Galvalume steel (GL) products are hot-dip aluminum (Al55%), zinc (Zn43.5%), silicon (Si1.5%) alloys on the surface of strip steel, with excellent corrosion resistance.

Hot-dip aluminum-zinc alloy is successfully developed on the basis of hot-dip aluminium and hot-dip galvanizing technology, which not only has excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance, heat and oxidation resistance of aluminized products, but also has excellent electrochemical protection of galvanized steel products, so that incisions and scratches are not easy to corrode and rust.

Its main advantages are as follows:

(1) The surface is smooth, with excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance, and its corrosion resistance life is 2-6 times higher than that of hot-dip galvanized steel plate;

(2) It has good heat and oxidation resistance, does not change color for a long time at 300 °C, can be used for a long time at about 500 °C, has good water resistance and soil corrosion resistance, its water corrosion resistance is better than that of hot-dip galvanized sheet and hot-dip aluminum sheet, and soil corrosion resistance is better than that of hot-dip galvanized sheet, which is an ideal material for making corrosion-resistant devices such as automobile mufflers, exhaust pipes, grain dryers, water heaters, etc.; In addition, the thermal reflectivity of the product is higher than 75%, which is twice that of galvanized sheet;

(3) It has excellent paintability and good processing performance. It has strong adhesion to organic materials, and is a good choice for colored organic coated steel plate substrates. Its processability and weldability are similar to that of hot-dip galvanized sheet, and it can be processed by cold bending, stamping, etc., and has a good appearance.
